Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
