Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.

It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
